 |  | DELTA produces, specifically for noise measurements according to IEC 61400-11, a new type of secondary wind shield with a microphone mounted on a board.
It is a hemispherical quality steel wire frame construction with a Rycote Windjammer cover with lining. The cover is fixed between the two bottom rings and ends at the plate. The wind shield reduces the wind speed at the microphone and the wind-induced noise in the microphone, thus increasing the signal-to-noise ratio especially at low frequencies.
The wind shield can be mounted on the plate with Velcro fastener, with double-adhesive tape or with screws, or a circular groove can be made in the board. |
For general purpose noise measurements where wind-induced noise can be a problem, DELTA also produces a spherical secondary wind shield. This wind shield is made according to EU project JOR3-CT95-0065 and fits on most standard tripods.
Both types of wind shield are delivered with an individual serial number and a certificate documenting its insertion loss.
The wind shields are produced on request, and delivery depends on the amount of orders.
